CHURCH GROWTH PRINCIPLE

CHURCH GROWTH PRINCIPLE

Leadership & Workers Training – HICC

The growth of the church is rooted in one central assignment—EVANGELISM.

There is something that makes heaven rejoice.
There is something that moves the heart of God.
There is something that activates angelic celebration.
That thing is soul winning.

The church is not primarily built for programs, but for people.
If we miss evangelism, we miss the heartbeat of God.

Luke 15:7 (KJV) “Joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons.”

Meaning: Heaven places greater value on one saved soul than on many already saved.

WHAT IS EVANGELISM?

Evangelism is the intentional act of reaching the lost with the message of Jesus Christ for salvation.

It is not optional.
It is not reserved for pastors.
It is the responsibility of every believer.

Mark 16:15 (KJV) “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Meaning: The command is global, active, and for all believers.

WHY EVANGELISM IS KEY TO CHURCH GROWTH

A. JESUS CAME FOR SOULS
Luke 19:10 (KJV) “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

B. GOD DESIRES ALL TO BE SAVED
1 Timothy 2:3-4 (KJV) “Who will have all men to be saved.”

C. HEAVEN CELEBRATES SOULS
Luke 15:10 (KJV) “There is joy in the presence of the angels over one sinner that repenteth.”

D. SOULS ARE ETERNALLY VALUABLE
Mark 8:36 (KJV) “What shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his soul?”

EVANGELISM AND CHURCH GROWTH

Acts 2:41 “About three thousand souls were added…” Acts 2:47 “And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

Meaning: Evangelism produces souls, and souls produce growth.

Key Truth:
No evangelism = no growth
Active evangelism = consistent church growth

WHO SHOULD DO EVANGELISM?

Every believer is called to evangelize.

2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJV) “We are ambassadors for Christ.”

This includes every worker in the church—ushering, choir, protocol, media, and leadership.

They are all SOUL WINNERS.

Proverbs 11:30 (KJV) “He that winneth souls is wise.”

Meaning: Soul winning is wisdom and spiritual responsibility.

THE HEART OF A SOUL WINNER

A. COMPASSION
Matthew 9:36 (KJV) “He was moved with compassion toward them.”

Meaning: Evangelism begins with love for the lost.
